green sheets and the wooden elephant

Some friends came to me the other day and shared the good news that they had gotten both the green sheets and the wooden elephant (sleep on light green sheets and position a wooden elephant on the floor at the foot of the door inside the bedroom) in order to bring a baby on board. What they wanted to know now was if there were any way to guarantee the arrival of a teeny weeny son to carry on the family name? The husband in this story is the last in his line, and they really want to have a bitty boy to give the line longevity. I told them about Feng Shui and the Bear. No, not a 'Kung Fu Panda,' but a literal image, symbol or small statue of a bear. The bear symbolizes man in a whole host of traditions. It is widely believed in Asia that if you place any image of the bear (true masters hold out that this MUST be a crystal figurine) into the 'Children' area of the home, that this will encourage the delivery of baby boy dreams along with a healthy and strong child. This advice has survived a long, long time and I certainly think it 'bears' repeating!
